Day 3 - Phnom Penh to Siem Reap

We had a very early start, 5:30am wake up call, breakfast again amazed us with the huge variety to choose from which also included traditional Cambodian breakfast choices.

Off we went to start our five and a half hour bus trip to Siem Reap but it wasn't long before we pulled over to try some insects, such as crickets, grubs, water beetles, scorpions and spiders. During this stop over we were swarmed by many Cambodian children who were trying to sell us fruit. Connor was particularly targeted as he had said he had no money to one little girl however bought some mango from another child which caused an uproar.

We then carried on our journey which included karaoke from half the bus and sleeping from the other. We finally made it to Siem Reap at 1:30 just in time for our amazing lunch.

When we arrived to our hotel we were gobsmacked by how magnificent it was and we all couldn't wait to jump in the huge pool. After a quick swim some of the students went to have a massage at our hotels spa which was absolutely amazing.

After everyone had cooled down and relaxed we made our way out to the Tuk Tuks which carried us to numerous eating destinations which were unexpectedly fascinating. We tried many interesting dishes, with the favourites being, Satay beef with honey buns and Papaya salad and also fried tofu with vegetables and sticky rice.

When we pulled up to the fourth stop of the trip which was a kids carnival, I (Chloe) spotted a big green bug on Miss Thomson's shirt, I then proceeded to tell her NOT to hesitate however that was not the case... She screamed like a girl and flicked the bug on me which made me throw my mango smoothie in the air which landed all over Miss Thomson. This resulted in tears of laughter and pandemonium.

We walked through the carnival with already full stomachs and sat down for our forth meal which was amazing however we couldn't quite finish it. We suggested to Paht and Kea, our tour guides, if we could please give our left overs to the street children, which we did. They sat down and were very excited and appreciative to be eating some yummy food.

We then made our way to our final stop where some of the students couldn't get enough of the creepy crawlies including a ginormous and hairy tarantula. Everyone jumped back into their Tuk Tuks to head back to the hotel to have a late night swim before knocking off for the day.

And just remember don't hesitate ;)
